JOHN McCULLAGH & THE ESCORTS
Announced as support act for CAST on December UK Tour

John McCullagh & The Escorts have been announced as the main support act on the forthcoming Cast tour this December. The teenage troubadour from Doncaster and his new entourage will be hitting the road to support the legendary 90s Britpop band for 11 UK dates, kicking off at The Welly in Hull on 9th December via Brudenell Social Club  in Leeds (19th) before concluding at Manchester Academy on the 21st.

However, this will not be the first time the two act’s paths have crossed. Over the past year, Cast front-man John Power has both collaborated in the studio and offered his production services on a number of tracks that are set to feature on McCullagh’s second album, Newborn Cry, scheduled for release in early 2015. Offering a taster of the new material to come, the band shared ‘ Box of Tricks ‘ as the first single to be lifted from the follow-up LP.

John McCullagh was signed at the age of 15 to Alan McGee’s coveted 359 Music label and released his début, North South Divide, as a solo artist in October 2013. In the last year, he has recruited his new backing band, The Escorts, and built up a formidable live reputation supporting the likes of The Strypes, Richard Hawley, The Enemy, Babyshambles, John Power, Alabama 3, Paul Heaton and Reverend & The Makers.
